Marmol defends costly bullpen decision, claims Cardinals team more frustrated than fans ST. LOUIS - Just when it looked like the St. Louis Cardinals might escape with a win, a lengthy stretch of losing continues. The St. Louis Cardinals suffered their fifth straight defeat Wednesday night, dropping 11 of their last 13 contests. They now carry the National League's worst record (10-21) a little more than a month into the season. Wednesday's loss came a little more unusually than most for the Cardinals up to this point. Unlike many teams around the league, St. Louis made some noise against Angels phenom Shohei Ohtani, scoring four times in five innings. RELATED - Nootbaar reunites with Ohtani before highly-anticipated St. Louis start The Cardinals brought a 4-3 lead into the ninth inning. Before that, leading closer candidate Ryan Helsley entered the game in the seventh inning to escape a big jam and preserve a one-run lead. He also tossed one more clean inning, picking up four key late-game outs on just 10 pitches. Helsley worked efficiently in just his second outing...

What is this iPhone Rapid Security Response? This week, Apple tried out a new way to get security updates to the iPhone faster. It's called a Rapid Security Response and these updates are smaller and easier to install - they might not even require a restart of your phone. These rapid updates are used to patch imminent threats to the security of your device. These threats typically target the web browsing framework called WebKit and other critical system functions. You can tell if a security update is a Rapid Response because it will have the letter "a" at the end of it.These fast updates are only available for the latest versions of Apple's software. That's iOS 16.4.1, iPadOS 16.4.1, and macOS 13.3.1. If your device isn't currently running that, it won't be eligible for these. They are installed automatically by default but you can go into Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates > Security Responses & System Files. When you see these rapid updates, like the name implies, you should install them as so...

Enrique Tarrio, three other Proud Boys convicted on seditious conspiracy Former Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio was convicted on seditious conspiracy charges alongside three other leaders of the right-wing group in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. The verdict, delivered in a Washington, D.C., courtroom Thursday, represents the third consecutive win for the Justice Department as it brings the rarely used charge, securing guilty verdicts both for the self-proclaimed chauvinist group and the far-right Oath Keepers militia.Seditious conspiracy is among the most weighty charges the Justice Department has brought as a result of the attack, carrying up to 20 years in prison.During the trial, which lasted for more than three months, prosecutors reviewed how the group discussed their plans for Jan. 6, 2021, ahead of the rally, including a memo titled “1776 Returns,” which outlined plans to occupy congressional buildings and the layout of the complex.Prosecutors credited the Proud Boys with being some of the first to breach barriers a...

Enter the Fantastical World of Myrlande Constant at the Fowler

Enter the Fantastical World of Myrlande Constant at the Fowler Haitian artist Myrlande Constant’s fantastical world is a vast expanse of gods, demigods, spirits, saints, symbols, nature, myth, and magic — expressed in large-scale embroidered and hand-beaded narrative tapestries of superlative shimmer, divinity, and detail. For more than 30 years, Constant has labored night and day in the service of her visions, translating lived experiences and compositional directives received from her religious consciousness into symphonies of hundreds of thousands of stitches, beads, and sequins. For sheer intensiveness of her process — quite apart from the pointed and poignant content — it’s easy to understand her work in a ritualistic, devotional framework. But it’s in considering the operatic tableaux and the transcendent stories of men, women, gods, monsters, and integrative post-colonial religiosity that the mind is truly set ablaze.Myrlande Constant: Milocan Tous les Saints Tous les Morts (Milokan, all the saints, all the dead), c. 2000; beads, sequins...
