(KDVR) — One person was killed and several more were rescued after driving past barricades and onto a washed-out road Friday near Roggen.Drivers are advised to heed the barricades at eastbound WCR 71 and WCR 16. It is called disc golf, and players here in Colorado have a chance to play on what may be the ultimate course, located on top of a mountain in the town of Pine.BuckSnort disc golf course was founded by Lowell and Linda Dietz in 2013. Broward officials fill boxes with donated items ahead of county’s Christmas in July deliveries

Broward County is ready to celebrate Christmas in July, thanks to some kind donations.On Friday, officials packed boxes for children at the Broward County Main Library’s loading dock in Fort Lauderdale.The boxes were filled with donated items for the annual deliveries. Broward County Commissioner Michael Udine joined members from the Christmas in July Committee and the Kiwanis Club in loading the boxes with backpacks, school supplies, underwear, socks, diapers and toiletries.The items that will be given to homeless children of all ages throughout the county.“It’s an important program. It’s a way for us to help others in their time of need. It’s easy to do it around the holidays, but this is our way of remembering it,” said Udine. “Summertime, 12 months a year, everybody needs help along the way.” The items will be distributed across the county on July 8.

Mother facing criminal charges after toddler found in hot vehicle in Falmouth

Police say a mother will be facing criminal charges after a toddler was left unattended in a car seat in a hot vehicle with the engine off in Falmouth on Friday.Police officers and firefighters were sent to TJ Maxx on Teaticket Highway around 4 p.m. after receiving a report of a toddler who was left unattended in a vehicle, according to a post on the Falmouth Police Department’s Facebook page.When they arrived, they found the child in the vehicle with its engine off. At the time, the temperature outside was 78 degrees. “No parent was in the vicinity and an officer was forced to utilize a window break to gain access to the child,” police wrote. “The child was evaluated by FFRD and the mother was located inside the store approximately 5 minutes later.” The Department of Children and Families have been notified, police said, and criminal charges will be pending.This is a developing news story; stay with 7NEWS on-air and online for the latest details.
