Once on scene, police said, officers found 58-year-old Diane Fenton in the middle of the road swinging a wooden bat at her husband’s arms and chest. The victim told officers the incident happened after he accused his wife of being drunk. At the time, Fenton was running “Diane’s Daycare” out of her home. When police went inside, they said they found a six-month-old child face down on the carpet along with a three-year-old and a four-year-old. 7NEWS went to the Fenton home on Wednesday for comment on the allegations against her. “I can’t talk about it right now,” Fenton said. Fenton said she could not speak on the matter, “because I have court tomorrow.” Fenton is schedul...New study shows increasing workplace flexibility may lower risk of cardiovascular disease

A new study led by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Penn State University shows increasing workplace flexibility may lower the risk of cardiovascular disease. Published on Thursday in the American Journal of Public Health, the study looked at stressors in the workplace that can cause heart attacks and strokes. The study also looked closely at lower wage earners who researchers say are more vulnerable due to their lack of control over their schedules and job demands. Speaking with 7NEWS, one researcher said the stress can get to anybody. “Anybody can have a bad day and it raises your blood pressure a little bit,” said Dr. Lisa Berkman, a public health researcher at Harvard and the director of the Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies. “But the kinds of things that cause these changes are enduring and longer term.” Berkman continued, saying “It probably reflects exposure on the job for years.” and it’s not necessarily one job.”“It’s...Revere police investigating theft of electric scooter

DEAR ABBY: My sister has been having an affair with a married man. When I asked if he was going to leave his wife, she said no, and it was fine with her. She claims his wife is fat and that they have a son with severe disabilities, and she (my sister) wouldn’t want the responsibility of that, even though I’m sure the boy would stay with his mother. She refers to him as her “honey,” and he buys her things. (She has always been materialistic.) She stays in contact with him constantly on her iPad and says how much he loves her.I would want to be open and have everyone get to know about my honey instead of sneaking around. When I say I don’t believe he loves her, she gets mad and accuses me of being jealous. I also told her that if I loved someone, I’d want to be with him and not communicate via email. Gifts wouldn’t make up for the person not being with me, especially if I claimed to love him.I was in a relationship with a married man once, but ...Callahan: Bill Belichick is hurting his own fight to keep the Patriots locker room

A day before taking off for Germany, Bill Belichick admitted he doesn’t speak the native tongue. Not a word, not a phrase.Considering the state of the Patriots, maybe Belichick should start here: Nun haben wir den Salat. The literal translation goes, “Now we have the salad.” But Germans will tell you its true meaning is closer to: “We’re in deep (expletive).”That is exactly where Belichick finds himself just one month after trading for J.C. Jackson, who is not expected to travel with the team overseas for Sunday’s game against the Colts. Belichick reacquired Jackson to stabilize his secondary after early-season injuries decimated the Pats’ cornerback depth. Instead, he imploded. In must-win games the past two weeks, he allowed six catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns. One team source explained Jackson’s stateside timeout with one word, “dependability,” referring to how Jackson has long lacked in that department. NEW YORK (AP) — The physical pain of nearly dying when shrapnel from a roadside bomb in Iraq tore through his head 17 years ago was hard enough for ABC newsman Bob Woodruff.Mentally, it was even worse. That’s evident in talking to Woodruff and watching as he takes television viewers on a journey to where his life changed in an instant on Jan. 29, 2006.
