MARION — A coach will bark out plenty of orders during a game, but sometimes he has to listen to his players.On the final drive of Saturday’s game with Tabor Academy, Lawrence Academy coach Jason Swepson took the advice of his offensive line.Instead of breaking a late tie with a field goal, the Spartans went for a touchdown, and got it, to earn a 28-21 win between two Independent School League unbeatens.With the win, Lawrence Academy stays perfect with a 6-0 record, while Tabor drops to 5-1. Both are in good position to make a NEPSAC bowl game.That final drive started at the Lawrence 35-yard line with 3:23 to go. Mixed emotions as Port Credit pizzeria closes after three-plus decades

After more than three decades, the doors at Amadio’s Pizza in Port Credit will close for the last time on Saturday night.“The last couple years have been very challenging with COVID and aging family passing away, so it’s time,” an emotional owner Joe Leroux tells CityNews. Leroux adds a significant factor in his decision to close was the six-month-long road closure for construction on nearby train tracks which seriously changed traffic patterns in the area, cutting business to the pizzeria in half.“Our sales dropped the day that they shut the tracks down because it became so inconvenient to come here. Police across Maine were alerted just last month to “veiled threats” by the U.S. Army reservist who would go on to carry out the worst mass shooting in the state’s history, one of a string of missed red flags that preceded the massacre.Two local law enforcement chiefs told The Associated Press that a statewide awareness alert was sent in mid-September to be on the lookout for Robert Card after the firearms instructor made threats against his base and fellow soldiers. Man found stabbed to death on West Side

CHICAGO — Police say a man was found stabbed to death in an alley on the city's West Side early Saturday morning.According to Chicago police, the stabbing happened in Austin in the 300 block of North Lorel Avenue, just after 6 a.m. Pregnant woman injured in shooting on West Side Police said the victim, an 18-year-old man, suffered stab wounds to the chest and abdomen and died on the scene. Police say it is unclear what led to the stabbing and no arrests have been made. Authorities have not identified the victim involved and an investigation by Area Four Detectives is currently underway.  Northwest Side store burglarized twice in an hour Anyone with information that could help police in their investigation is asked to call Area Four Detectives at 312-746-8251. Rare 'ghost of the forest' deer spotted in Tennessee

SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) — A "ghost of the forest" as some call it, an albino deer, was spotted wandering a property in Spring Hill, Tennessee, twice this week."It honestly was such a surreal kind of almost like mystical experience," Abbey Cabler explained.Her husband first spotted the deer in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Oct. 24.
